In 1980 the Junior League of Miami created and produced an Emmy award-winning film entitled "Miami, The Magic City" which was enjoyed by newcomers and old-time South Floridians alike. In 1994, the Junior League produced a new, updated and expanded version of this acclaimed film. It focuses on Miami's unique and ethnically diverse heritage and tells the story of the people and events that have shaped our international community.
Narrated by Cliff Robertson and written by Miami's beloved historian Arva Moore Parks, "Our Miami: The Magic City" is a fascinating, 60-minute film detailing 10,000 years of Miami history from a tropical frontier to a glittering, international metropolis. Thanks to funding from the United Way and others, the Spanish language version was released in 1995.

"Our Miami: The Magic City" provides a wonderful historical overview of Miami, ideal for learning and sharing with others. Both the English (DVD) and Spanish (VHS format) versions of the film are for sale with proceeds benefiting League community projects.
