Generously sponsored by Whole Foods (donating all the food for the baskets) As the Pilgrims of Plymouth, MA were the iconic inspiration for the Thanksgiving Day feast, so too are the juniors at this bountiful event as they assembled food baskets for the families of ITN.

JLM volunteers prepared Hope Totes ("bags filled with needed items")which were distributed to Miami Rescue Mission participants.

All children, parents, Junior League members, All Aboard staff and invited community guests sat down down together to read. Everyone will brought a book, magazine, comic book, newspaper, or other reading material to the Read-In, and all read together silently for fifteen minutes. The ultimate purpose of the Read-In is to encourage kids to read by showing them that “everybody does it.”

The concepts of "Eating a Rainbow" and "Edible Plant Parts" were illustrated while exploring the Foods of Florida. Activities for the session were Native Floridians, making a Native American Salad, Growing Sprouts, making a Food Map, and It's Symboloic.

The JLM Therapy Dogs Committee launched the Paws 2 Read program. The opening of the new Pinecrest Branch Library took place where there was a ribbon cutting ceremony and activities for the family. The Paws 2 Read program is to improve the literacy skills of children with the assistance of registered canine reading companions in a fun and relaxed environment.

JLM volunteers helped with the Alzheimer Race. We passed out water and worked at the many stations.

JLM HQ Final Phase Renovation Project

Leadership Initiative Training on the topic of JLM 101 - The Basics. Past presidents and JLM leaders discussed the basic structure of JLM and its history.

Jacqueline Ortega, Esq. of the State Attorney Division of Child Support Enforcement will speak about legal issues and answer questions from residents.

The primary community that the Junior Girl Scouts belong to is their school community and will examined the role of lunch in the daily life of this community. Activities for the session were as follows: Introduce Food Pyramid, Balanced Lunch, School Lunch Advocacy, Speak Your Mind, Pack Your Own Lunch
