Diversity Coordinator* This experienced JLM member will serve to implement a board-directed diversity plan within the League. The coordinator will sit on Membership Council but will coordinate efforts within all councils in order to implement this plan. This member will receive and conduct training on why diversity of ideas and inclusion are essential to the continued viability and success of our league. This is a new position. The ideal candidate would be committed to the idea that attracting and retaining a diverse membership is essential in order to fulfill JLM and AJLI missions.
Grant Manager/Project Outcome Evaluation Chair* This experienced JLM member will have the responsibility of developing and implementing a quantitative system designed to evaluate our current projects and grant recipients to ensure that our resources are being effectively used. This process will include site visits to community projects and grant recipients and review of periodic reports submitted by our grantees. This is a new position. The ideal candidate would possess the creativity and initiative to spearhead this new league endeavor.
Interactive Communications Chair (All Member E:mail, Website, Database) This member will have responsibility for accumulating from the President and other JLM members’ time-sensitive information concerning events and activities and preparing/sending weekly all-member emails to our active and sustaining membership. This member will, with the assistance of a paid contractor, make updates and upgrades to our impressive JLM website, where many prospective members and donors first learn about our organization! She will also assist at each General Membership Meeting with audio/video. No prior League experience necessary.
Photo/Video Journalist/Annual Record Keeper This member should possess good photography skills, have an interest in attending a variety of JLM events and activities, and a fondness for preserving the current League year history in a photo album/scrapbook. No prior League experience necessary.
Fund Development/Community Partners Chair/Chair Elect These positions have been combined. Candidates will preferably have at least two years active League experience in a fundraising or a financial capacity. She will coordinate the League’s analysis of any new potential fundraiser opportunities, and will work with the President Elect in making advance event sponsor requests. She will also be responsible for coordinating any Community Partners fund drive and will coordinate non-fundraiser JLM donations received. The Chair will be a member of Development Council. The Chair Elect will sit on the Planning Council.
Member Events Coordinators This position is best suited to an active with at least one year’s experience in the League. The best candidates for this position are women who are “plugged in” to what is going on, and like to frequently interact with friends old and new! JLM will be organizing more informal member social events, large and small, at a variety of venues, to enable our members to get to know each other better and feel more connected! These coordinators will also serve as liaisons with recent transfers and provisionals to plan events which enable our newest members to interact with current JLM members and become educated about our community. In addition to organizing events, the Member Events Coordinator will serve as the point person for our members wishing to organize “Interest Groups” and a mentoring or “buddy” program for interested first year actives and/or provisionals. Introverts…need not apply!
Membership Outreach Chair/Chair Elect This position has been added to the Willingness to Serve process after a general membership vote to remove it from the nominating process. This committee is responsible for the recruitment of candidates for membership in the league.
Leadership Initiative Chair/Training This experienced JLM member will spearhead an outside speaker series for JLM members and non-members on Leadership with an intent to develop future leaders and heighten community awareness of JLM. This member will also conduct in-house training for all JLM members and leaders. The Chair will sit on Membership Council.
