1940-1941: Pauline Paulsen Baker, President*
- Fundraising Projects: Emphasis of World War II Efforts, Annual Ball, Rummage Tea and Thrift Shop
- Community Projects: Children's Theatre, Inc., Theatre Workshop established, survey on welfare in Miami community and Red Cross Courses given
- Major Milestones: Associate memberships abolished
1941-1942: Evelyn Pretlow Rutledge, President*
- Fundraising Projects: Thrift Shop, Annual Ball and Rummage Tea suspended due to the War
- Community Projects: War Efforts and Home (National) Protection, First professional staffing of Council of Social Agencies(Welfare Planning Council) with the request that the Volunteer Bureau be established by the Council
1942-1943: Leona Hines Skinner, President*
- Fundraising Projects: War Efforts and Thrift Shop
- Community Projects: Children's Theatre disbanded for the war's duration and the Theatre Workshop closed
- Major Milestones: Thrift Shop manned by paid workers to enable members to coordinate war efforts
1943-1944: Nancy Hoyt Caldwell, President*
- Fundraising Projects: Thrift Shop manned by paid workers in order to release all volunteers for the War Effort
- Community Projects: Children's Music and Story program that eventually encompassed all the elementary schools
- Major Milestones: A 14 month year due to a by-law amendment
1944-1945: Marie Willard Anderson, President
- Fundraising Projects: Thrift Shop's First Rummage Marking Tea
- Community Projects: Sponsor Local Artist exhibit at Burdines and established the Legislative Committee (later named Public Affairs and a forerunner of SPAC)
1945-1946: Roma Pape Swanson, President*
- Fundraising Projects: Thrift Shop
- Community Projects: Local Community conditions, Temporary Home Study Series on WGBS radio and the Circulating Library at Jackson Memorial Hospital turned over to the Grey Ladies
1946-1947: Leah Adamson Berry, President

- Community Projects: Miami Children's Theatre reactivated, Governor appointment of Florida Children's Commission 1947
1947-1948: Margaret Sinkler Whitney, President

- Community Projects: Miami Children's Theatre turned over to the community and Mental Health Society of S.E. Florida established
1948-1949: Mary Frances Whiteside Robbins, President*
