Community Projects

The Junior League of Miami focuses on making a significant impact within the areas of food insecurity, homelessness, family violence, child and women’s health, early childhood education, and foster care. By choosing to donate, you are taking an active role in our efforts to unite and build a better community for the Miami-Dade area.

Inn Transition is a creative and vital answer to transitional housing for victims of domestic violence and their children by providing housing, counseling, and child care for families in need.

Done in a Day is a signature Junior League community project that assists local organizations with short-term events within the League’s focus areas.

We have partnered with ICU Baby this year and their Meaningful Meals Program. Supper of Support and Cuisine & Crafts are catered meals designed specifically to unite families of an admitted NICU baby so that they can support each other.

JLM caters and serves the meals at the hospital in close proximity to the NICU. Parents are invited to stay for the duration of the event or join only for a quick bite, depending on their needs at the time.

Food Rescue US

We are proud to partner with Food Rescue US, who is also committed to reducing food waste and food insecurity in our community. Using a web-based application, Food Rescue US engages volunteers to transfer excess fresh food from grocers, restaurants, and other sources to social service agencies that feed individuals who are food insecure.

Members are also encouraged to volunteer on their own. Click here to learn how to sign up for a shift.

Junior League of Miami has a partnership with the Miami Diaper Bank. Their mission is to collect and distribute diapers and other diaper related products to low-income families and their children, while also raising awareness about the need for them. JLM partners with the Miami Diaper Bank by hosting a donation box at our headquarters in Coral Gables, having our members volunteer at “wrappy hours,” and having members deliver diapers and wipes to other partner organizations, like Inn Transition.
