Membership Benefits

Members have many opportunities to serve both in the League and in their own community on worthwhile projects. For example, Inn Transition, the residential program for victims of domestic violence, is a signature project of the League. The League has also been instrumental in establishing such programs as the Miami Museum of Science, CHARLEE Homes for Children, Guardian ad Litem and others. The Junior League of Miami is highly regarded in Miami-Dade County for its ability to make a positive impact in the community. Members can take pride in belonging to such an organization. Members are offered training courses, seminars and workshops on a variety of topics that relate to personal, professional and community interests. Opportunities to attend League sponsored state, regional and national conferences and training sessions are also available to members. And of course, the best training of all, is “on-the-job” volunteer work that provides new skills and abilities for lifelong use!

Members working side by side, serving their community, form lasting friendships. Networking opportunities also exist through collaborations with other community, state and national organizations.

Members develop core skills by serving on League committees that transfer well to their personal and professional lives. Many League members are afforded opportunities to serve on community boards, and other local/ national leadership programs.

League membership is transferable throughout the United States, Canada, Great Britain and Mexico, thus providing members with a network in a new community.

Benefits include travel clubs and discounts, and insurance through membership in the Association of Junior Leagues International.
