JOINING JLM AS A NEW MEMBER

CRITERIA TO JOIN: 

  • You must be at least 21 years of age when you begin your New Member program.
  • You must be a resident of Miami-Dade County.
  • You share JLM’s values and support our mission to advance women’s leadership for meaningful community impact through volunteer action, collaboration, and training. You wish to be united by our commitment to serve our community through trained volunteer service and develop the potential of women everywhere, and you are committed to inclusive environments of diverse individuals, organizations, and communities.

 

NEW MEMBER RESPONSIBILITIES:

CURRICULUM REQUIREMENTS:

Our New Member experience is designed to be completed over a three-month period. During the 2026-2027 League Year, we will offer two cohorts: 

Fall Cohort Dates August 29, 2026 – December 4, 2026
Application DeadlineAugust 22, 2026
Spring Cohort Dates January 23, 2027 – May 1, 2027
Application Deadline – January 16, 2027 

  • Throughout the program, you’ll gain hands-on experience with the Junior League of Miami through leadership training, League events, volunteer opportunities, and fundraising activities.
  • Each cohort will complete a community project with one of our nonprofit partners, giving you the opportunity to develop skills in project planning, leadership, collaboration, and community impact.
  • You’ll kick off your journey with a Super Saturday, where you’ll learn about our mission and how we operate as a membership driven organization.
    • To support you throughout the program, you’ll be paired with a New Member Guide—an experienced JLM member who will serve as your mentor and primary point of contact.

    • Estimate time commitment: Approximately 2-3 hours per week.

DUES:

New Member dues are $225 for annual membership. Please note all paid dues are nonrefundable. JLM’s fiscal year runs June 1-May 31; dues will be prorated based on your cohort.

    • Fall Cohort Dues: $225
    • Spring Cohort Dues: $100
  • Payment plans are available upon request 

HOW TO JOIN:

  • Click here to submit an application. 
  • Complete a 1:1 interview with our Recruitment Chair or attend a recruitment event 
  • Once your application is approved, you will receive instructions to pay membership dues. 
  • Once your dues are received, our New Member Committee will reach out to share next steps.
