CORAL GABLES, Fla. (April 2, 2018) – Luxury design and home furnishings retailer Robb & Stucky has been selected to redesign the Garden Room as part of the Junior League of Miami’s Showhouse, April 14 through April 29, at the historic Deering Estate at 16701 SW 72nd Ave., Palmetto Bay, Fla.

Three interior designers from Robb & Stucky’s Coral Gables showroom will team up on this project including Design Director, Maria Elena Holguin, Madeline Rodriquez and Ana Cayeiro.

“The Deering Estate is an historical landmark in South Florida and we are honored to be chosen by the Junior League of Miami in its preservation efforts,” said Holguin. “It features a large space and a truly gorgeous area rug, featuring a magnificent Tree of Life, beautiful birds and other breathtaking elements, giving us a lot to work with to create something extraordinary.”

The design team says they will be re-imagining the space to evoke a soft, contemporary style. Their plan includes reupholstering the white wicker sofa and chaise with ivory matelassé and adding beautiful pillows with a subtle, tone-on-tone pattern. They will also be incorporating a reading and desk area.

Guests will be able to explore the Garden Room along with 19 other spaces at the Deering Estate, which dates back to 1916. The Deering Estate Foundation is said to have committed to spending $25,000 on furnishings, lighting and other unique décor to remain in the designer spaces after the Showhouse ends.

The Junior League of Miami hosts the biennial event to increase awareness and raise funds for the women, children, and families who benefit from the 91-year-old nonprofit organization’s charitable projects and scholarships.

“The ability to make a difference in our own community, especially at such an architecturally stunning venue like the Deering Estate, makes this the perfect opportunity for Robb & Stucky,” said Holguin.

The Miami Showhouse Preview Gala will be hosted on April 14th and general admission is open April 15th through April 29th, from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm. For more information or to purchase tickets, please visit www.miamishowhouse.org.
